The last of the four l’apéros dedicated to Bordeaux paired a sweet Sauternes with fennel and carrot confit (recipe in book – link in bio). We also served foie gras de canard, roquefort, smoked sturgeon and grilled pineapple – all great pairings with the wine. Proudly hanging in the breakfast nook – a trio of book covers! We never thought we would author one book – let alone three!
We visited NYC recently – our first trip since last March. In the book we talk about Alsastian Chef Daniel Kreuther’s restaurant in NYC and our love for the wines of the region. On this trip we tasted his version of Tarte Flambée during a leisurely lunch. Our version is in the book.

Of course we had a margarita last night to celebrate National Margarita Day. Sometimes simple is best – 1.5 oz Tanteo Jalapeño tequila, .5 oz Grand Marnier, juice of two limes and a splash of orange juice. Delicious!
After three days with only intermittent power, we finally got our power back for good yesterday afternoon. So it was time for an old standby that is perfect on a cold, snowy evening – a Rusty Nail. 2 oz. Swing blended Scotch whisky and 1 oz. Drambuie served over ice in a rocks glass.
Only three U.S. presidents have ever been impeached. They are Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump (twice). Why not make one of the cocktails from the book named in their honor? The Tennessee Tailor, The Lefty or the You’re Fired. The book is available at Amazon and all major on-line booksellers. Or e-mail [email protected] to arrange to get an autographed copy!
Still living vicariously through past adventures. Two years ago we took an amazing trip to Jordan and Egypt. The ancient Jordanian City of Petra was amazing, as was visiting the Pyramids – we had the place almost to ourselves!
